Therapeutic
massage is the manual manipulation of soft tissue (muscles,
tendons, ligaments and fascia) for the purpose of promoting
health and well-being. This is accomplished through the use of
specialized strokes in a methodical sequence, treating soft
tissue as functional groups or individual units depending on the
desired effect.

Today, massage
is an accepted part of many physical rehabilitation programs and
has proven beneficial in the treatment of many chronic
conditions such as low back pain, Fibromyalgia, Carpal Tunnel
Syndrome, TMJ Dysfunction, and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.
Massage
provides relief to people from all walks of life—from casual to
competitive athlete, from weekend gardener to construction
worker to overstressed executive. While massage is often
thought of as a benefit to active people, the elderly and
bedridden also benefit from the improved flexibility and
circulation that massage offers. |
